The player respawns at the beginning every time they die. While stuck in both the planet Atropos and in a time loop, Selene resurrects every time she dies. Selene is a space pilot and armed with an equipped suit and high-tech weapons. It is set in a futuristic sci-fi landscape with psychological as well as cosmic horror elements. The game has collected heaps of praises and favorable reviews. The plot follows an Astra scout, Selene who lands on the planet Atropos in search of the mysterious white signal. It saw a release on April 30, 2021, for the PlayStation 5. ![]() Like, it'll be right there in front of you, in the same screen where you spawn in, with Helios and the Cthonos spire).Returnal is a third-person rogue-like shooter game developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. (IIRC, it also unlocks at least one new scout log that you'll immediately be able to collection after watching the new ending and spawning back into biome 4. I probably cleared Act III with less than 40 hours on the clock, and I think I was getting close to 100 hours by the time I secured the platinum.Įdit - So ultimately, I'd say it comes down to whether you're enjoying the game enough to want an excuse to quickly run through at least part of all six biomes again, and invested enough in the story, setting, and lore to see a nice new chunk of it. That said, if I DID have absurdly good luck with the six sunface fragments, then I exhausted all of that luck right then and there, because holy shit, was the grind for the six biome survey completion trophies real. So you can literally rush through biome 4, find the teleporter to biome 5, and secure that particular fragment within around 30 seconds of moseying into the Fractured Wastes. I know for sure that biome 5's sunface fragment spawn rate is 100%, because it spawns in what would have been that biome's boss room had there been a boss there, and since you've already unlocked that room with the three Hadal keys as part of Act II, it'll remain unlocked just like all other biomes' boss doors do. I'm not sure what the spawn rates are for the sunface fragment rooms, but I have to assume that they're pretty high if I got all six in those two runs. Then I reset my cycle again, visited the house in biome 4 for the final time, and proceeded to go ahead and beat the game again and trigger the true ending. I did a run of biomes 1-3 and found the three fragments there, then reset my cycle, transitioned to biome 4, and did a full run of biomes 4-6 and found the last three fragments. Now, I may have had absurdly good luck, but I essentially collected all six fragments (and a new weapon, IIRC) in two back-to-back runs. If you're going for the platinum, you will assuredly find all six sunface fragments before you finish the six biome survey trophies anyway, so that's a factor too. It's one sunface fragment per biome (though they won't start spawning until you visit the house for what should be the fifth time), and you can Google up what the rooms look like for each biome, to maximize your chances of finding them. Act III has the potential to be the shortest act of the three, in my experience. If you've been following the lore (scout logs, xeno-glyphs, etc.) and are keen to get more to chew on than what the regular ending provided, then I say sure, go for it.
